ABOUT MFARS
Moray
Firth Amateur Radio Society is a group of amateur radio enthusiasts with
a variety of radio interests.
Our aims are to support and encourage amateur radio in the Moray
area, our activities include:

Introducing amateur radio to community groups such as
scouts

Running amateur radio stations at public events
-
Providing
training and exam facilities to help
newcomers to get licensed and on the air

Entering radio
events such as contests and special event days on the air
The club holds the call sign GM3TKV.
We have a variety of radio
equipment which is available for club members to use for
contests and special events.
We are currently in the process of converting a ex-military
communications unit into a mobile club unit.
MFARS also owns and
operates the GB3SS (Speyside) VHF repeater which serves Moray and parts
of the surrounding area.
For those starting out in amateur radio, we run
training courses for Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced radio amateur
examinations.
The club has a registered examination centre in Fochabers.
