Caravan Portable Shack

My favourite way of operating is Caravan Portable.  A different view out of the window and much more comfortable then a tent up a mountain.

This is one of my antenna set ups

At the back 3-Element 2m beam, pointing at GB3SS in this picture. At the front a Buddipole for use on 40/20/17m with a 6m dipole above. A solar panel on the ground feeds radio batteries only.

A large panel sits permanently on the roof for domestic battery power and via split charge relay to radio batteries.

How is that for a view

The setup shown above and in close up below consists of an FT-817 together with an LDG Z11 auto tuner and HL-50B for HF + 6m work.

Completing the set up is a 30W Microwave Modules amp for 2m.  The location is the caravan club site at Grummore and shows we do get good weather in Scotland.

More to follow when I get pictures of my TS-480 set up
