Rallying With the Highland Centre

So what is this rallying lark any way. In the
case of the Highland Centre it is a chance to get away for the
weekend at scenic locations like that pictured and to enjoy the
company of like minded people. The Caravan press recently has
contained negative comments about rallies and people who attended
them, let me assure you those comments may be true for some
centres but here in the Highlands of Scotland we see and do
things differently. We have members from the very youngest at
only a few months old right the way through to the eldest who are
old in body but young at heart. You could view the weekend as a
visit with an extended family.
So what do you need to rally? A caravan and tow car helps and as
we are part of the Caravan Club membership is a requirement.
Other than that all you need is an open friendly mind. The
general "plan" of a Highland Centre rally is to meet
and greet on Friday night, a social on the Saturday, and home on
Sunday after an informal religious service. None of this is
compulsory and some people do not attend the "organised"
events. The social can range from the Annual Dinner Dance to a
BBQ on the field, including all the variations between the
extremes.
